What drives the price of a pool clean

Two pools of the same size can be quoted very differently. These are the factors that move the number up or down.

Pool size and water volume. This is the biggest single driver. More water means more surface to brush and vacuum, more chemicals to balance, and more filtration time, so price steps up from small to medium to large. Volume matters even more for a deep clean, where a larger pool takes longer to drain, scrub, and refill.

How dirty or green the water is. A pool that has been maintained and only needs a routine clean sits at the starting price. A pool that has gone cloudy takes more work, and a pool that has gone fully green with algae is a different job entirely, which is why green-to-clean is priced separately and often after an inspection.

Drained versus not drained. Regular cleaning is done with the water in place and is the more affordable option. For most pools the sensible pattern is a deep clean occasionally, for example at the start of the swimming season or after a long spell of no use, with regular cleaning in between to keep the water clear. Booking a deep clean every time would cost far more than the pool needs.
