Holambi Kalan — a resettlement belt of small plots, Metro Vihar blocks and village homes near Narela. Patchy DJB supply and heavy borewell use make scheduled tank cleaning genuinely worth it. Starting ₹699.
Holambi Kalan is an outer-North resettlement and village belt near Narela and Bawana Road, built up with the Metro Vihar JJ-resettlement blocks, small plotted homes and a few builder floors. Piped DJB supply here is thin and irregular, so most households depend on borewell water and private tankers — both of which carry grit and minerals straight into the rooftop tank. We routinely find heavy silt at the tank base, sandy sediment from tanker fills, and scale on the walls, especially in the tightly-packed Metro Vihar phases.
Tanker-fed water is the big difference here. Water trucked in during shortages brings suspended sand and fine mud that settles into a thick sludge layer that no amount of surface rinsing will remove — it has to be scooped and vacuumed. In summer the small overhead plastic tanks on these compact plots heat up quickly and foul between fills. For Holambi Kalan homes relying on tankers we suggest a clean every two months to keep drinking and cooking water safe.
For a standard 1000-litre overhead tank, the whole job takes about 90 minutes from doorbell to pack-up. Underground sumps take longer — usually 2 to 2.5 hours depending on sludge. You don’t need to provide anything: we bring our own water for the rinse, vacuums, jet pumps, food-grade disinfectant and gloves, and send before/after photos on WhatsApp.
Where DJB supply falls short in Holambi Kalan, families buy tanker water — and that water arrives with sand, silt and organic matter that settles fast. Over a few weeks it forms a sludge bed at the tank floor that breeds bacteria. Our process drains the tank fully, scoops and wet-vacuums the sediment, scrubs the walls with food-grade brushes, jet-washes, then disinfects with drinking-water-grade chlorine. A standard tank up to 500L is ₹699; 501–1,000L is ₹899.
The Metro Vihar phases are dense resettlement plots with compact rooftop tanks, often one small tank per household on a narrow roof. Access is tight but routine for our crew — we carry portable equipment up the stairs, no vehicle access needed. Ground-floor homes sometimes have a small underground sump that collects tanker water first; sumps are cleaned with full confined-space safety and priced ₹1,500–2,500 by size. There is no outer-belt surcharge for Holambi Kalan.
“We depend on tanker water — how often should we clean the tank?” With tanker water, sand and silt build up quickly, so every two months is the safe interval in Holambi Kalan rather than waiting six. A basic up-to-500L clean is ₹699. If you book a fixed cycle we hold a slot for you each time and give a modest discount over one-off visits.
“Is there an extra charge for coming out to Holambi Kalan near Narela?” No outer-belt fee. Holambi Kalan, Metro Vihar and the Bawana Road side are all standard service area for us — same ₹699 starting price as central North Delhi. Call before 10 AM and we can usually fit a same-day or next-day slot, Sundays included.
“The tanks and lanes in Metro Vihar are small and tight — is that a problem?” Not at all. Our crew works with portable vacuums and jet pumps that we carry up on foot, so narrow lanes and rooftop tanks are routine. A small overhead tank is cleaned in roughly an hour, and we send before-and-after photos on WhatsApp so you can see the sludge that came out.
