Water Tank Cleaning Charges in Gurgaon (2026 Price Guide)

If you just want a number, here it is: a single home tank from ₹699. But Gurgaon has every kind of tank — small Sintex on a builder floor, a 2,000-litre overhead, a basement reservoir feeding a whole tower — so the charges step up with size and tank count. This is the plain rate card for 2026, plus exactly what adds to the bill and what doesn’t.

Gurgaon tank cleaning charges at a glance

  • Single overhead / Sintex tank (up to 1,000L): from ₹699
  • Large overhead tank (1,000–1,500L): ₹799–999
  • Extra-large overhead (1,500–2,000L): ₹899–1,200
  • Each additional tank, same visit: ₹400–600
  • Underground sump / reservoir (up to 5,000L): ₹1,800–3,000
  • Builder floors, condos & societies: charged per tank after a quick survey

Disinfection, photos and a service record are included in every charge. The only genuine extras are heavy hard-water descaling and difficult access — both quoted upfront, never after the job.

“What do you charge to clean a water tank?” is the first question we get on almost every Gurgaon call, and the honest answer is “it depends on the tank” — which is exactly why this page exists. Gurugram runs the full spread: independent builder floors with a small Sintex tank per floor, DLF and Golf Course condominiums with enormous underground reservoirs feeding rooftop tower tanks, villas in the old colonies, and brand-new high-rises along Dwarka Expressway and the Southern Peripheral Road. A charge that’s fair for a 500-litre tank makes no sense for a 20,000-litre reservoir, so we publish a rate card by tank type and size rather than a single misleading number.

Below is the price list we actually work from, followed by what each charge includes, the handful of things that legitimately add to it, and how multi-tank buildings are charged. If you want the deeper reasoning — why the floor is ₹699 and not ₹250, and the economics behind per-tank pricing — our Gurgaon cost breakdown covers that in detail; this guide stays focused on the charges themselves.

Water tank cleaning charges in Gurgaon — 2026 rate card
Tank type & size Typical capacity 2026 charge Time on site
Small overhead / Sintex tank Up to 500L From ₹699 60–75 min
Standard overhead tank 500–1,000L From ₹699 75–90 min
Large overhead tank 1,000–1,500L ₹799–999 90–110 min
Extra-large overhead tank 1,500–2,000L ₹899–1,200 90–120 min
Each additional tank (same visit) Per tank ₹400–600 each +30–45 min each
Underground sump / reservoir (residential) Up to 5,000L ₹1,800–3,000 2–2.5 hrs
Hard-water descaling add-on Heavy scale +₹300–700 +20–40 min
Builder floor (multi-tank bundle) 3–5 tanks + sump Custom (per-tank) Half-day
Condominium / society tower UGR + rooftop tanks Per-tank survey quote Scheduled

These are realistic 2026 charges across Gurgaon, not teaser rates that grow on arrival. The figure we confirm before the crew starts is the figure you pay. The two columns that surprise people most are “each additional tank” and the underground reservoir line — both are explained below, because that’s where most of the saving (and most of the confusion) sits.

What every charge includes — and what it doesn’t

Every charge buys the full eight-step clean — sludge removal, scrubbing, jet wash, food-grade disinfection — not just a rinse and refill.

The single biggest reason Gurgaon quotes look so different is that they’re often pricing different jobs. Our charge always covers the same complete process, so you’re comparing like for like. Included in every figure on the rate card:

What is not baked into the headline charge are genuine site conditions that take real extra work: heavy hard-water descaling, an unusually thick sediment layer in a long-neglected tank, extra tanks, and difficult high-rise access. Each of these is named to you before the crew starts — never discovered at the end. A ₹250 operator avoids all this by skipping the work; our water tank cleaning services page lays out the full method so you can see precisely what the charge pays for.

What legitimately adds to your charge in Gurgaon

Above the rate-card floor, four local factors are the usual reasons a Gurgaon charge lands higher. None of them are surprises if your cleaner is honest about them upfront.

Hard-water scale. Gurugram’s borewell groundwater is hard, and tanks fed mainly by borewell crust up with calcium and mineral scale on the walls, around the inlet/outlet and on the float valve. Light scale is part of the standard charge; heavy, crusted scale needs food-grade descaling at roughly ₹300–700 extra. Buildings running largely on borewell — common across the older sectors and along Sohna Road — see this more often. Our Gurgaon hard-water cleaning guide explains why the scale builds so fast.

Tanker sediment. Large parts of Gurgaon lean heavily on water tankers, and tanker water carries sand and silt that settles thick at the bottom of the tank. A tank that hasn’t been opened in two or three years can hold a sediment layer half an inch deep — far slower to scoop and vacuum than a tank cleaned yearly. That extreme-neglect case can carry a small surcharge, always quoted after the crew sees inside.

Underground reservoirs. Sumps and society reservoirs hold many times the water of a rooftop tank, need confined-space safety gear, and take far longer to pump out and scrub. They’re charged by capacity rather than the flat rate — covered in the next section.

Height and access. The flat charge assumes normal rooftop access. Very tall towers, awkward terraces, or sectional tanks that need long hose runs and harnessed work can carry a small access charge for the extra time and safety setup. On the higher floors off DLF Phase 5 and the new-tower belt, this occasionally applies — and it’s confirmed before we start, not bolted on after.

How multi-tank buildings are charged

Underground reservoirs are charged by capacity, and per-tank charges fall in builder floors and societies because the crew and gear are already on site.

This is where Gurgaon charges differ most from a standalone flat, and where the biggest savings sit.

Builder floors. A four-storey independent builder floor in a sector like Sector 56 often has one overhead tank per floor plus a shared ground sump — four or five tanks in total. Booked together, the first tank is charged at the standard rate and every tank after it at the reduced ₹400–600 each, so the whole building costs far less than four or five separate ₹699 visits. Always ask for the multi-tank bundle when you book.

Underground sumps and reservoirs. A residential sump up to about 5,000L is charged ₹1,800–3,000 by capacity, with larger reservoirs quoted after a look. Because setup and travel are fixed, the cost per litre actually drops as the reservoir gets bigger — a large basement reservoir is better value per litre than a small one.

Condominiums and societies. A DLF or Golf Course Extension tower has a large underground reservoir at the base plus multiple rooftop sectional tanks feeding the flats. These are charged per tank, and the per-tank rate falls as the count rises — so the effective charge per tank in a big tower is well below a single home’s ₹699. The committee gets a per-tank record and a GST invoice for its files. Our society tank cleaning guide walks through how an AOA/RWA schedules a whole building.

How to compare Gurgaon charges without getting burned

When you collect quotes, the headline number means nothing on its own — a ₹300 charge and a ₹699 charge are usually two completely different jobs. Before you commit, confirm:

If a quote is vague on any of these, the low headline charge usually grows — or the job simply isn’t done properly. And if you’re cleaning regularly, an annual contract locks a lower per-visit charge over the year: our Gurgaon AMC guide explains how those plans are structured for homes, builder floors and societies.

Frequently asked questions

What are the standard water tank cleaning charges in Gurgaon in 2026?

A standard single residential overhead tank up to about 1,000 litres is charged from ₹699. Larger overhead tanks of 1,000–1,500L run roughly ₹799–999, and 1,500–2,000L around ₹899–1,200. Underground sumps and reservoirs are charged by capacity, typically ₹1,800–3,000 for a residential sump. Builder floors and societies with multiple tanks are charged per tank after a quick survey.

Is the ₹699 charge per tank or per visit?

₹699 is the charge for one standard overhead tank up to about 1,000 litres, including the visit. If you have more than one tank at the same address — common in Gurgaon builder floors — every additional tank cleaned in the same visit is charged at a reduced rate of roughly ₹400–600 each, because the crew, equipment and travel are already on site. There is no separate call-out fee on top.

How are charges calculated for a large 2,000-litre tank?

Charges step up with capacity because a bigger tank means more scrubbing, more food-grade chemical and more time on site. A 1,000–1,500L overhead tank is about ₹799–999 and a 1,500–2,000L tank about ₹899–1,200. The figure is fixed and confirmed before the crew starts — you are never charged by the litre after the work is done.

What does the charge include — is disinfection extra?

The quoted charge covers the full eight-step clean: inspection, draining, sludge removal, manual scrubbing, high-pressure jet wash, wet-vacuum, food-grade disinfection with proper contact time, and refill, plus before/after photos and a service record. Disinfection is included, not an add-on. The only extras are genuine site conditions like heavy hard-water descaling or extra tanks, which are quoted upfront.

Are there extra charges for hard-water descaling in Gurgaon?

Light scale is included in the standard charge. Gurgaon’s borewell groundwater is hard, so tanks fed mainly by borewell can build heavy, crusted calcium scale on the walls and fittings. Removing that needs food-grade descaling, which adds roughly ₹300–700 because it takes extra time and chemical. The crew checks on arrival and tells you whether descaling is needed — it is never added silently.

How are underground sump and reservoir cleaning charged?

Underground sumps and reservoirs hold far more water than a rooftop tank and need confined-space safety gear, longer pump-out and more scrubbing, so they are charged by capacity rather than the flat ₹699. A residential sump up to about 5,000L is usually ₹1,800–3,000; larger society reservoirs are quoted after a site survey. Counter-intuitively, the cost per litre falls as the reservoir gets bigger.

Do societies and builder floors get a lower per-tank charge?

Yes. Independent builder floors often have one overhead tank per floor plus a ground sump, and condominium towers have a large underground reservoir feeding multiple rooftop tanks. When several tanks are cleaned together, the per-tank charge drops because the crew and equipment are already on site. A 20-tank tower can work out to roughly half the single-flat rate per tank. Societies also receive a per-tank record and a GST invoice.

Is GST charged on top of the price for tank cleaning?

For residential jobs the figure we confirm before starting is what you settle — no surprise additions at the end. For societies, commercial and institutional work we raise a proper GST invoice so the AOA, RWA or business has documentation for its records. Any add-on such as descaling or extra tanks is always shown to you before the work begins, never after.

Are there call-out or visit charges if I only have one small tank?

No separate call-out fee. A single small overhead or Sintex tank up to about 1,000 litres is charged from ₹699, and that price already includes the crew travelling to your Gurgaon address, the full process and the documentation. The only time access can add to the bill is a very tall tower or a difficult terrace that needs extra hose runs and harnessed work — and that is confirmed before the crew starts.

How can I get an exact charge for my address before booking?

Send us your tank type, the number of tanks, the approximate capacity and your area — Sector 56, Sohna Road, DLF Phase 5 or anywhere across Gurgaon — and we confirm a fixed charge on call or WhatsApp, usually in a couple of minutes. For societies and builder floors we do a quick survey first so the per-tank rate is accurate. The price we confirm is the price you pay.
