Dayanand Colony — a settled plotted colony between Lajpat Nagar 4 and East of Kailash, rebuilt into lift-equipped builder floors where every roof carries a row of tanks. We descale and disinfect them floor by floor. Starting ₹699.
Dayanand Colony has quietly become one of the tidier addresses in the Lajpat Nagar belt: original plots rebuilt into three- and four-storey builder floors with stilt parking and lifts, bought by joint families or leased to long-term tenants. The rebuild pattern created a specific rooftop layout — one 1,000L tank per floor owner plus a common tank for the stilt and staircase supply, so a single roof can carry four or five tanks plumbed off one DJB inlet. Owners maintain their homes well, but the roof is out of sight, and it is common for one family’s tank to be freshly cleaned while the neighbouring tank on the same stand has not been opened since possession.
Because supply comes in timed DJB slots, every tank on the roof cycles from full to near-empty daily, and that daily churn settles fine sediment evenly across all of them. The common tank is the orphan — each owner assumes it belongs to someone else. Cleaning all tanks on the roof in one visit costs less per tank, takes one access arrangement, and puts the whole building on the same schedule.
For a standard 1000-litre overhead tank, the whole job takes about 90 minutes from doorbell to pack-up. Underground sumps take longer — usually 2 to 2.5 hours depending on sludge. You don’t need to provide anything: we bring our own water for the rinse, vacuums, jet pumps, food-grade disinfectant and gloves, and send before/after photos on WhatsApp.
A typical rebuilt plot here stacks four owner families, each with a dedicated 1,000L tank on the shared roof, plus a smaller common tank feeding the lift lobby and stilt taps. We treat the roof as one job: drain, de-sludge, scrub and disinfect every tank in a single visit, label each one, and give each family its own before-and-after photo set. Per-tank pricing stays at ₹699 up to 500L and ₹899 for 501–1,000L, and most buildings split the common tank’s cost four ways. One booking, one afternoon, and the whole building is done together.
Dayanand Colony’s stability is the quiet cause of its tank problem. Families stay for decades, tenants renew for years, and because the water never obviously fails, the tanks above are forgotten — we regularly open units here carrying five or more years of layered sediment under perfectly normal-tasting water. Our clean removes that base layer mechanically, jet-washes the walls and applies food-grade disinfection, and we recommend a standing twice-yearly slot so the roof never falls off the household calendar again. Underground sumps, where the newer rebuilds have added them, are ₹1,499.
“Can you clean all the tanks on our builder floor in one visit?” Yes, and it is the most economical way to do it in Dayanand Colony. We drain and clean each owner’s tank plus the common tank in a single visit, photograph each separately, and bill per tank — ₹699 up to 500L, ₹899 for 501–1,000L — so families can pay individually.
“Our building has a lift. Do you still need staircase access?” We use the lift for crew and small equipment where the RWA or owners permit, but hoses and the exit route for sludge go via the staircase and roof door. Either way the work stays contained to the roof; nothing passes through your home.
“We have long-term tenants on two floors. Do they need to be home?” No. We need roof access and about 30 minutes’ notice before we shut the outlet valves so nobody is mid-use. Water is back on the same day, and every family sharing the roof gets the photo report on WhatsApp.
