On the Garhi Mandu floodplain, shallow mineralised borewell leaves stubborn scale and an iron tint in the per-floor Sintex tanks. KaamGenie cleans them gently, hygienic and photographed. From ₹699.
Garhi Mandu is an outer trans-Yamuna village-and-colony pocket along the Yamuna floodplain near Sonia Vihar and New Usmanpur. The groundwater here is shallow and heavily mineralised, and the borewell that feeds most plots leaves a stubborn scale and an iron tint inside rooftop tanks. Plot houses run a small Sintex or plastic overhead tank per floor, and on those translucent walls the sun adds algae, since light passes through the plastic and warms the water above the scale. The floodplain setting brings a fine silt into the mix too, which settles into the base of loosely-lidded tanks. A mid-year clean is worth more here than in most places, because the mineral scale and silt build faster on the plastic than families expect between cleanings.
KaamGenie cleans Sintex and plastic tanks across Garhi Mandu and the New Usmanpur edge. We check the tank and lid, drain it, scoop out the silted and iron-tinted layer, wet-vacuum the base, jet-wash at a plastic-safe pressure and finish with an anti-bacterial disinfectant wash, with before and after photos. For a plot’s underground store as well, see our full water tank cleaning in Garhi Mandu. This page focuses specifically on Sintex and plastic tanks.
The shallow, heavily mineralised groundwater under Garhi Mandu is the root of the problem. It leaves a stubborn scale on the plastic floor and outlet and an iron tint along the walls, and both set harder the longer the tank goes uncleaned. On a translucent Sintex tank the sun then grows algae over that deposit, because light passes through the wall and warms the water. A concrete tank blocks the light and shows less green, so the per-floor plastic tanks here take on both the scale and the film faster.
The floodplain adds its own factor: a fine silt that drifts up onto the roofs and settles into loosely-lidded tanks, thickening the sediment layer. Because each floor runs its own small tank on a plot house, and cleaning is not scheduled, that mix of scale, iron and silt is left to build for years. A mid-year clean clears it before it hardens, which is why we suggest one here more often than in drier parts of the city. Left alone, the first draw runs cloudy and metallic before anyone opens the tank.

“Do you clean per-floor Sintex tanks in Garhi Mandu?” Yes. The small plastic overhead tanks that plot houses run one per floor are exactly what we clean across Garhi Mandu and the New Usmanpur edge. We can do a single floor’s tank or all the tanks on a plot in one coordinated visit, with plastic-safe cleaning throughout.
“The water has a rusty tint. Can you clear it?” Yes. The iron tint comes from Garhi Mandu’s mineralised borewell settling in the tank. We drain it, scoop and wet-vacuum the iron-stained silt, jet-wash the walls at a plastic-safe pressure and finish with a disinfectant wash. A mid-year clean keeps that stain from building back into a thick layer on the plastic.
“How much to clean a small Sintex tank here?” A tank up to 500 litres starts at ₹699 and a standard 1000L is ₹899, with a larger 1500 to 2000 litre tank at ₹1,299 to ₹1,499. When several per-floor tanks on one plot are done together, we apply a bulk rate on four or more, so the cost drops per tank.
“Why do you suggest cleaning more often in Garhi Mandu?” Because the floodplain groundwater is shallow and heavily mineralised, so scale, iron and silt build faster here than in drier colonies, and the sun through the translucent Sintex wall grows algae over that deposit. A mid-year clean clears it before it hardens onto the plastic, which is why it is worth more here than in most places.
“Will the jet wash damage the plastic?” No. We set the pressure specifically for plastic, so it lifts the hardened scale and iron sediment without cracking or gouging the wall, and we use soft pads on stubborn crust rather than wire brushes. Wire brushes scratch the Sintex and let scale grip faster, so we keep them off every tank in Garhi Mandu.
