Stairwell-tank and drum cleaning for Sitapuri — the C-block janta flats’ shared tanks pooled per stairwell, and the drum-to-roof storage chain of the village lanes cleaned as one job. From ₹1,500 per tank.
Sitapuri is a small colony wedged between Dabri and the Pankha Road DDA belt — part C-block DDA janta flats, part regularised village lanes. The janta flats share stairwell tanks serving many small households; the private homes run modest single tanks. What makes Sitapuri different is pressure: this is the weak tail of the network, so most buildings pump from ground-level drums up to roof tanks — doubling the storage surfaces, and doubling what needs cleaning.
KaamGenie treats the drum and the roof tank as one system, because cleaning only the top half leaves the bottom half re-contaminating it within weeks. A Sitapuri booking covers the ground drums, the transfer pump line and the roof tank together; janta-flat stairwells pool their shared RCC tanks the same way blocks do across the Pankha Road belt, splitting ₹1,500 per tank across the households served. Photos and a dated certificate close every job. For single-tank work, see water tank cleaning in Sitapuri — this page covers shared tanks and the full drum-to-roof chain.
When supply pressure is too weak to reach the roof, the ground drum becomes the real intake point — it takes the incoming water first, collects the first and heaviest sediment, and then the pump lifts from it. A clean roof tank fed from a dirty drum is clean for a fortnight. Households here often scrub the drum they can see and reach, and never the roof tank, or vice versa; either way half the chain stays fouled and reseeds the other half.
Our visit does the chain in order: drums drained and scrubbed first, the pump run briefly to flush the line, then the roof tank cleaned and disinfected so what refills it is already clean. For the janta-flat stairwells the same logic applies at block scale — the stairwell tank is cleaned to the standard the DDA maintenance round rarely achieves, on the residents’ own schedule rather than the department’s. Certificates per tank, pool discounts across a stairwell or lane, and a four-month repeat suits both the DJB and borewell-fed corners of the colony.
No travel charge anywhere in Sitapuri. The final price is confirmed on the call before we come — it depends only on tank size and access.

Every locality in Delhi stores different water, and that decides how fast a tank fouls. This is Sitapuri’s profile from The Delhi Water Index, built from our field observations across 250+ localities.

“Do you charge separately for the ground drum and the roof tank?” Each storage vessel is priced as a tank — ₹1,500 — but a booking covering the full drum-to-roof chain gets the multi-tank discount, and small drums are quoted down by volume at survey. Cleaning the chain together is genuinely cheaper than two separate visits, and it is the only version that lasts.
“Our stairwell shares one tank among nine households — how does payment work?” One coordinator collects roughly ₹170 per household against the ₹1,500 tank price, we schedule around the supply window, and the certificate and photos stay with the stairwell. Several Sitapuri stairwells run this as a standing four-monthly arrangement now, with the same coordinator each time.
“Why does our roof tank get dirty again so quickly after cleaning?” Almost always because the ground drum feeding it was not cleaned at the same time. The pump lifts whatever sits in the drum — silt, scale flakes, mosquito debris — straight into the fresh tank. Clean both in one visit and the roof tank stays clear for months instead of weeks.
“Is the pump line itself cleaned?” We flush it: after the drum is cleaned we run the pump briefly to push standing water and loosened deposit out of the line before the roof tank is finished. A full pipe descale is a plumber’s job, but the flush removes what would otherwise land in the clean tank on day one.
“Can you handle an urgent same-day clean in Sitapuri?” Usually yes — book before 10 AM and we can typically reach Sitapuri the same day, sitting as it does between our Dabri and Pankha Road routes. Stairwell pools and full-chain jobs are better scheduled a day or two ahead so the drum can be run low first.
