Underground sumps & combined sump + overhead
An underground sump always costs more than an overhead tank of the same capacity, and across NCR it runs ₹1,500–2,800 for a residential unit. The work is genuinely harder: it’s a confined space that needs safety gear and ventilation, there’s far more standing water to pump out, and the sediment that settles at ground level is heavier — sand and grit washed in with the supply, plus construction debris in newer towers across Greater Noida West and the Gurgaon and Faridabad fringes.
If your home has both a ground sump and a rooftop tank — common in independent houses and ground-floor flats right across NCR — book them together. A combined sump + overhead visit is ₹2,200–3,000, which is less than booking the two trips separately because the crew, the pump, the jet wash, and the travel are all shared across one booking. Society & high-rise — per tank, plus the reservoir
This is where most people get confused, and where padded quotes hide. A high-rise society anywhere in NCR does not have “a tank.” It typically has one large underground reservoir at ground level where the supply collects, pumps that lift water up to rooftop tower tanks — often one tank (or a cluster) per tower or per wing — and sometimes intermediate tanks in very tall towers. So a fair society quote is never a single round figure — it reads as reservoir + (number of rooftop tanks × per-tank rate).
