In Mukherjee Nagar’s coaching blocks, one small Sintex tank per floor often feeds a whole crowd of students, and it films over fast. KaamGenie cleans it gently, hygienically and with photos. From ₹699.
Mukherjee Nagar is Delhi’s best-known UPSC and competitive-exam belt, where ordinary buildings have been stacked into PG rooms and shared flats housing hundreds of aspirants. The plumbing that grew with that density is telling: rather than one big tank, many blocks run small per-floor Sintex tanks, each shared by a dozen or more students. Those little plastic tanks drain and refill several times a day, and because they hold so little the water inside barely rests before it warms in the sun through the translucent walls. Supply here is a mix of DJB piped water and supplementary borewell, so scale and silt come with it. Nobody in the transient tenant crowd takes ownership of a floor tank, so it is opened by no one. Between the churn, the light through the plastic and the borewell’s hardness, these small tanks foul quickly and stay that way.
For these shared floor tanks our plastic-safe process is quick and thorough: we check the tank and lid, drain it, scoop out the slimy sediment, wet-vacuum, jet-wash at a plastic-safe pressure and scrub the algae with soft pads, then apply an anti-bacterial disinfectant wash and send photos before and after. When a coaching building wants every floor tank plus the sump done together, our full water tank cleaning in Mukherjee Nagar handles the whole stack. This page focuses on the Sintex and plastic floor tanks.
A small per-floor Sintex tank is a fast-fouling design. It holds little water, so it warms quickly in the rooftop sun, and its translucent wall lets the light straight through to feed algae. Where a family might have one large tank that stays cooler and darker in bulk, a coaching block has several tiny plastic ones, each greening on its own. The more tanks and the smaller they are, the more surface area is exposed to light for the water inside.
Then there is the sheer usage. A floor tank feeding a dozen students empties and refills all day, and Mukherjee Nagar’s partial borewell supply leaves hardness scale on the plastic each cycle. That scale gives the algae a rough grip, while the constant churn keeps silt suspended and pulls dust in through lids nobody bothers to seal. With no student claiming the tank as theirs, it simply runs dirty until the water tastes of it, which is why these blocks need cleaning on a tight schedule.
No travel charge anywhere in Mukherjee Nagar. The final price is confirmed on the call before we come — it depends only on tank size and access.

“Each floor has its own small Sintex tank, do you charge per tank or per building?” We price per tank, but for a coaching block with a Sintex tank on every floor we set a bulk per-tank rate for four or more, so doing the whole building in one visit works out much cheaper than booking floor by floor. Tell us the number of tanks and we quote the block.
“Our borewell water is hard, does that change the cleaning?” It means there is scale to deal with on top of the algae film. Our jet-wash at plastic-safe pressure lifts the hardness deposit off the tank floor and outlet, and the anti-bacterial wash follows, so both the mineral crust and the biofilm come off. Hard-water tanks like Mukherjee Nagar’s simply benefit from a slightly closer cleaning interval.
“The students change every few months, who should book and be present?” Usually the building owner or the PG manager books, since the tanks are shared and no single tenant owns them. Someone just needs to give the crew roof access and confirm the supply timing. We send the before-and-after photos to whoever books so the responsible person can see each floor tank was done.
“How small is too small for you to bother with?” No tank is too small. The little per-floor Sintex tanks up to 500 litres start at ₹699, and because they foul fastest they are often the ones most worth cleaning. Larger shared tanks are priced up from there, with the bulk rate applying once a building has several.
“How quickly can the water get bad again in a packed block?” In a full coaching block with small floor tanks, the algae film can start returning within a couple of months given the heat, the churn and the open lids. Cleaning every three to four months keeps it in check, and sealing the lids properly, which we do on the way out, slows the return between visits.
