Tank Cleaning Before Moving In

With NBCC redevelopment tearing up sections of Sarojini Nagar, construction dust is settling into every open roof tank in the colony — and the old CPWD blocks’ stairwell tanks were already overdue. KaamGenie cleans through the disruption. From ₹699.
Sarojini Nagar wraps Delhi’s busiest bargain market inside a government colony now partially under NBCC redevelopment. The surviving CPWD blocks share RCC tanks mounted over stairwells, one per stair of quarters; the market-side buildings mix shop storage with residences above. Demolition and piling work has changed the air itself — fine construction dust travels across the colony and settles into any tank whose lid is loose, cracked or long gone, which describes a good share of them.
Cleaning demand here has jumped mid-construction, and we have organised for it: crews cover the colony in rounds, cleaning stairwell tanks block by block — drain, dust-sludge extraction, jet wash of the RCC interior, manual finishing, certified disinfection — and fitting or advising on lid fixes while the tank is open. Photos and a dated certificate go to the pooling families. The water tank cleaning in Sarojini Nagar page has the colony-wide picture; this page covers the overhead tanks.
Construction dust is not ordinary dust — it is cement-fine, alkaline and constant while work proceeds. Entering a tank, it forms a grey sediment blanket much faster than normal accumulation, and residents notice water turning faintly gritty within weeks of a nearby demolition phase. Tanks that could previously coast a year between cleans now show heavy bottoms in four to six months.
The colony’s in-between status makes the usual channels slower: blocks slated for future phases get minimal departmental attention, yet families still live there and still drink from those stairwell tanks. Market-side buildings face the double load of shop traffic dust plus construction fallout. Until the redevelopment settles, our honest guidance for occupied blocks is a clean every four to six months, with a proper lid fix as the single best money saver.
No travel charge anywhere in Sarojini Nagar. The final price is confirmed on the call before we come — it depends only on tank size and access.

We reach every pocket of Sarojini Nagar — and there’s no travel charge to any of them:
“Construction is right next to our block — how often should we clean now?” While active demolition or piling is within a couple of hundred metres, every four to six months is realistic — we are seeing tanks fill with grey cement-fine sediment at two to three times the normal rate. A tight-fitting lid, which we can fit or source, stretches that interval meaningfully.
“What does it cost for our stairwell tank?” Standard tanks are ₹699 up to 500L and ₹899 for 501–1,000L; the shared stairwell RCC tanks are quoted after a look, split easily among the quarters on that stair. Extraction of construction-dust sludge is included — it is simply what cleaning means here right now.
“Is the grey sediment in our water harmful?” Cement-fine dust makes water alkaline and gritty, irritates skin for some people, and its sediment blanket shelters microbial growth — so while it is not acutely dangerous, you do not want to keep drinking over it. Cleaning removes the blanket; the lid fix slows its return.
“Do you also serve Pillanji village inside the colony?” Yes — Pillanji’s village homes and rental floors are on our Sarojini Nagar round, with the same service and pricing. Roof access through the village’s tighter stairs is no obstacle for our portable equipment.
“Can shop buildings on the market side get early slots?” Yes. Market-side buildings are scheduled at dawn so shop storage and residential supply are both back before trading starts. Book before 10 AM for possible same-day service on residential blocks; market-side jobs are best fixed for the next morning’s first slot.
