In Inderlok’s tenement lanes, one rooftop tank can serve six households — and as often as not it has no lid at all. KaamGenie cleans the open tanks, the ground drums beneath them, and gets covers back on the water. From ₹699.
Inderlok, at the Red-Green Line interchange toward Old Delhi’s edge, is dense the way only this belt is dense — narrow lanes, tenement buildings, small workshops, heavy tenant occupancy. Water storage follows the pressure-starved, timed DJB supply: every building doubles up with ground drums that catch the supply window plus roof tanks the booster fills from them, so each household’s water crosses two storage surfaces. And on the roofs, missing lids are as common as fitted ones — tanks stand open to crow droppings, lane dust, and whatever the wind carries in.
KaamGenie cleans the full storage chain in Inderlok — roof tanks and ground drums both drained, wet-vacuumed, jet-washed at plastic-safe pressure, soft-pad scrubbed and given a food-grade disinfectant rinse, with photos and a dated certificate for the building. For anything RCC or a coordinated multi-building job, see our main water tank cleaning in Inderlok page; this page is about the plastic tanks and drums specifically.
Everything that makes a plastic tank vulnerable assumes the lid is at least mostly on. Take it away and the tank becomes a catchment: bird droppings — the single worst biological input a tank can receive — lane dust, insects, leaves, all landing directly on the water while sunlight through the open top and the translucent walls drives growth at full speed. Tanks we open, in the literal sense, in Inderlok routinely show floating debris and wall slime that a lidded tank would take years to develop.
The two-stage storage doubles every exposure. The ground drum catches the timed supply at lane level — splash, dust and foot-traffic grime included — and the booster then transfers that load upward, so the roof tank inherits the drum’s condition plus its own. Because six or more tenant households may share the chain with no single owner, cleaning happens only when someone finally forces the issue. Our visit resets both stages at once, and we fit or source lids for open tanks before we leave — the cheapest upgrade any Inderlok building can make.
No travel charge anywhere in Inderlok. The final price is confirmed on the call before we come — it depends only on tank size and access.

Every locality in Delhi stores different water, and that decides how fast a tank fouls. This is Inderlok’s profile from The Delhi Water Index, built from our field observations across 250+ localities.
Indicative field characterisation, not a certified lab test. BIS IS 10500: TDS 500 mg/L acceptable, 2,000 permissible. Check any Delhi area →
“Our tank has no lid — can you supply one?” We can fit one during the visit if you buy the right size beforehand — we tell you the exact diameter on the phone or after measuring — and for standard sizes we can often bring one along if you ask when booking on 95603 66362. Getting the water covered matters more than any single cleaning we do.
“Six families share our roof tank. How does payment work?” However the building prefers — most tenant buildings split the bill per household, and at ₹699-₹899 per tank the share is small. We deal with one contact person for access and timing, clean the tank and drum chain in one visit, and leave the certificate with whoever coordinates.
“Is cleaning the drum really necessary if you clean the roof tank?” Yes — the drum fills first and dirtiest, at lane level during the supply window, and the booster pushes its contents into the roof tank. Cleaning only the top of the chain means the next pump cycle re-seeds it. Doing both stages in one visit is the only version that holds.
“How long are we without water? Supply here is only a few hours.” We plan entirely around the window. The chain is drained just before your supply hours, cleaned and disinfected quickly — drums and roof tanks are small — and the drum catches the window on time so the booster refills the roof tank the same day. Nobody misses a supply cycle.
“Can you come today if the water looks dirty?” Call before 10 AM and usually yes — Inderlok sits at the join of our Karol Bagh-belt and northwest rounds. Visible dirt in a shared open tank is worth treating urgently, and we prioritise open-tank calls because of what unlidded storage collects.
