Nirankari Colony's settled homes near the Yamuna run rooftop Sintex tanks that green quietly under the sun and get forgotten between cleanings. KaamGenie cleans them gently, hygienic and photographed. From ₹699.
Nirankari Colony is a settled residential pocket of independent houses and floors near the Yamuna in North Delhi. Water arrives through DJB lines, but proximity to the river belt and ageing overhead tanks lets sediment settle over time. The rooftop stores are often plastic or Sintex tanks, and being translucent they let the sun through the wall to warm the water and feed algae and biofilm. River-belt dust drifts into loosely lidded tanks and lays grit on the plastic floor. A concrete tank would keep the light out, but the plastic ones let it in, so the inside greens quietly. Because many of these homes are multi-tenant, the rooftop tank is often forgotten between cleanings. Left alone, the sediment and film accumulate before anyone opens the lid.
We clean these plastic tanks gently and fully: check the body and lid, drain, hand-scoop the slimy sediment, wet-vacuum the base and jet-wash at a plastic-safe pressure. The algae film lifts with soft pads rather than wire brushes, and we finish with an anti-bacterial disinfectant wash and share before and after photos. If the home also has an underground store or an RCC tank to do, see our full water tank cleaning in Nirankari Colony. This page is specifically about Sintex and plastic tanks.
The plastic wall quietly does the damage. A Sintex tank near the river is translucent, so sun passes through and warms the water, and that warmth is what algae and biofilm need to establish. A concrete tank would block the light and stay cooler, holding up longer, while the exposed plastic one greens. Because the fouling happens inside, out of sight, the tank looks fine from the roof even as the film spreads, which is why owners let it slide.
Multi-tenant use is the other half. When several tenants share a home, the rooftop tank has no single caretaker, so its cleaning is nobody's clear job and gets forgotten between long intervals. River-belt dust keeps drifting in through loose lids, laying grit on the plastic floor for the algae to grip, and the ageing tanks add their own sediment. Left alone, the plastic tank coats up well past what the residents expect, so a scheduled clean is the simple fix.
No travel charge anywhere in Nirankari Colony. The final price is confirmed on the call before we come — it depends only on tank size and access.

“Our home has several tenants and no one cleans the tank, can you handle it?” Yes, that is common in Nirankari Colony and we make it easy. One resident can book on behalf of the house, and we clean the shared rooftop Sintex on a single visit, checking, draining, scooping and disinfecting.
“The tank looks fine from outside, does it still need cleaning?” Often yes. A plastic tank greens on the inside where you cannot see it from the roof, so the outside can look fine while a film spreads within. We open it, show you photos of the interior, and clean whatever is there.
“What does cleaning a 1000-litre rooftop plastic tank cost?” A standard 1000L Sintex is ₹899, and a smaller tank up to 500 litres starts at ₹699. If the home has more than one plastic tank, we quote a bulk per-tank rate.
“Does being near the Yamuna affect the tank?” It adds river-belt dust that drifts in through loose lids and settles as grit, which the algae film then grips. We clear that sediment during the clean and can flag a poor lid to slow how fast it returns.
“How long will the clean take and can I see the result?” A single plastic tank is usually done within the morning, and we send before and after photos of the inside so you can see the sediment and green film gone.
